A free case evaluation is exactly what it sounds like: we review the facts of your injury, tell you whether you have a viable personal injury claim under New Mexico law, and explain what your case could be worth. No fee. No obligation. Most of our team speaks Spanish during intake. The call usually takes 15–30 minutes.

What Happens in the First Call

When you call El Gringo Law or submit our contact form, a Most of our team speaks Spanish during intake specialist will ask a short set of questions: when and where the injury happened, who was involved, what injuries you sustained, whether you’ve received medical treatment, and whether any insurance company has contacted you. You’ll be connected with El Gringo Law the same business day in most cases. Most of our team speaks Spanish.

What We Review Before Giving You an Opinion

Before telling you whether we believe your case is viable, we review: (1) liability — who caused the injury and can we prove it, (2) damages — the medical bills, lost wages, and non-economic losses you’ve experienced, (3) available insurance coverage, (4) New Mexico’s three-year statute of limitations under NMSA § 37-1-8, and (5) New Mexico’s pure comparative fault rule established in Scott v. Rizzo, 96 N.M. 682 (1981), which reduces recovery by your percentage of fault but never bars it entirely.

What You Should Bring or Have Ready

  • Police report or incident report number, if available
  • Names and contact info for any witnesses
  • Photos of the scene, vehicles, or injuries
  • Medical records or bills received to date
  • Insurance information for all parties involved
  • Any correspondence from the other side’s insurance carrier

None of this is required to get an evaluation. If you don’t have it yet, we’ll help you gather it.

What You’ll Walk Away With

By the end of the evaluation you’ll know: whether we believe you have a case, a realistic range for what the case could be worth, what the next 30-60-90 days will look like if we take it on, and our honest assessment of the strengths and weaknesses we see in the facts. If we can’t help you, we’ll tell you and refer you to an attorney who can.

No Fee. No Obligation. Fully Most of Our Team Speaks Spanish.

The evaluation is free whether or not you hire us. If you do hire us, we work on a contingency fee — you pay nothing unless we recover compensation for you. See our No Fees Unless We Win page. For Spanish-speaking clients, see our Evaluación Gratuita en Español.
